About Me
I am a 22-year-old creative, focused on bringing my endless curiosity, ingenuity, enthusiasm and passion for storytelling to the media and journalism industry.
I am currently in my final year as an undergraduate reading Journalism, Media, and Publishing at Oxford Brookes University. In my part time I enjoy my position as Sub Editor working for the department magazine: Hybrid Magazine, alongside being the Events and Social Media Manager for our universities Taylor Swift Society (not a cult!).
My wide interests, knowledge of current affairs and sense of humour gives my work topical meaning, as well as entertaining my audience. I approach my work with an open mind, without judgement, looking to understand and relay human and social dilemmas of my generation with a more rounded view.
Through my work I deep dive into my content with an exceptional level of scholarship. Therefore, by reading as much as possible I am able to provide valuable insights for my audience. By having a global outlook, I understand what is at stake with the stories I research and share on my platform.
My fascination with female centric stories led me to apply to become a UN Women UK Volunteer. The topics discussed in these roles are difficult to process, but they have enabled me to learn about the realities women are dealing with globally. I constantly push against prejudicial boundaries and expose real stories that most digital channels do not convey to my generation.
My writing skills range from creative, to essays, opinion pieces, informative features, and interviews. I produce innovative and progressive ideas and can follow a brief, but it does not constrain my thinking. I am comfortable pitching my own ideas, whilst recognising the real value of collaboration. I gained many of these skills whilst working as a Features Intern the local newspapers: The Oxford Mail & The Oxford Times. My work ethic, digital skills, innovative perspectives, and a desire to get my hands dirty are values that make me a journalist who would be a benefit any organisation.
