About Me

I am a 21 year old creative, focused on bringing my passion for storytelling, endless curiosity, ingenuity and enthusiasm to the media and journalism industry

I am currently a final year Journalism, Media and Publishing student at Oxford Brookes University and in my part time I enjoy my position as Sub Editor working for the department magazine, “Hybrid Magazine”, alongside being the Events and Social Media Manager for our universities Taylor Swift Society (not a cult!) .

My expansive interests, knowledge of current affairs and sense of humour gives my work topical meaning, as well as entertaining my audience. I approach my work with an open mind, without judgement, looking to understand and relay human and social dilemmas of my generation with a more rounded view.

Through my life so far, I have been misjudged, underestimated and stereotyped. This led me to apply to become a UN Women UK Volunteer. The topics discussed in these roles are difficult to process, but they have enabled me to learn about the realities women are dealing with globally. I constantly push against prejudicial boundaries and expose real stories that are often not pushed through digital channels to my generation.

My writing ranges from creative, to essays, opinion pieces, informative features and interviews. I produce innovative and progressive ideas. I can follow a brief but it doesn’t constrain my thinking. Most importantly I am comfortable pitching my own ideas, whilst recognising the real value of collaboration. Many of these skills I gained whilst working as a Features Intern at local newspaper: The Oxford Mail & The Oxford Times. My work ethic, digital skills, innovative perspectives and a desire to get my hands dirty are values that make me a vital journalist to have as part of your organisation.
